A rewrite of mvpmc is underway to make mvpmc more portable, and more maintainable. The git repository can be viewed here and can be cloned with the following command:
The rewrite is in the very early stages. It is being targeted to the four platforms listed below, and is currently useable to some degree on each platform. If you would like to participate in helping on these or any other platforms, please let me know.
At this point, mvpmc can be controlled via the GUI or a web browser on each platform. Point your web browser to port 8500 on the system that is running mvpmc. The goal is to make this more functional than the current mvpmc version running on the Hauppauge MediaMVP (with support for MythTV, ReplayTV, Slimserver, ...).
Please see the README file for build instructions.
This dongle supports playback of MP3 audio files and mpeg1/2 video files. Boot it like you would any other mvpmc dongle.bin release.
Untar this onto either your internal hard drive or your first attached USB drive in the mvpmc directory. You can then start mvpmc via the NMT GUI by selecting the mvpmc.html file and selecting the appropriate device. Currently, MP3 and FLAC audio, MPEG video, and unencrypted DVD filesystems (not ISO images) are supported.
To use MythTV playback, you will need to use the -s host option when starting mvpmc.
Untar this onto your internal hard drive into the mvpmc directory. Kill dvdplayer.bin and then run mvpmc. Currently MP3 audio and MPEG video is supported.
The host platform is mainly just for making debugging mvpmc easier. It runs as a gtk application under X11 on your build system, and will play audio and video files via mplayer.
If anyone is interested in porting mvpmc to platforms other than what is listed above, please let me know. Or feel free to get started. The other platforms I would be most interested in include the following:
